After playing around with the LFR tool and raids extensively on PTR, it has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions between excited (ding!) and frustration at the lack of listening ability of people in general. Granted, a lot of people on PTR were on premades without actually knowing how to play their class, they jumped into the LFR because it is the cool thing to do. Ninja-Face pulling, not clicking on the big giant button in the middle of the screen when that is the only mechanic you have to do during the fight, etc.
A few weeks into the PTR, people started knowing the fights and things got a lot smoother (tuning adjustments were made as well) and I started to enjoy the LFR. It was normally a quick queue during prime time, but there were still those players who donned full pvp and queued up as a tank, etc. As horrific as it might seem, you have to take the good with the bad and perservere the full spectrum of pug mentality (from elitist to derpstick).
LFR is exactly what I hoped it would be, a sort of training ground for people wanting to learn the basic fight mechanics and get phat lewts in a non-pressure situation. Even if you have a few baddies, it doesn't matter, you're still going to win if the majority of people do what they are supposed to do.
I have seen on other forums that some people are complaining about how undertuned LFR is and they are upset about it. Those same people are doing hard modes with their guilds so I can't understand how they would complain about LFR being too easy. It isn't geared towards HM players, it is geared towards recruiting new players into raiding and giving people (who would not have a chance otherwise) the opportunity to see the content and experience the hard work that the devs spent in creating for only 5% (?) of the population to experience.
Now, I have only one peeve since the LFR hit live servers. Queueing as a tank it took me about 40 minutes to get into a raid and when I did join they had killed 3/4. So I killed the boss, took my 250 VP and then decided to run some of the new 5-mans (while they are still fresh) with some guildies.
Later as an experiment, I queued up and DPS and it was insta-queue. I cancelled the invite and went back in queue as a tank and I was the only player in my queue for the 15 minutes until I logged for the night. It seems that LFR is the exact opposite of the RDF where it is painful queueing as DPS and waiting 20 minutes. It seems tanks will now feel the same pain that the DPS had felt for such a long time.

How has your experience with the LFR tool been so far?
